Hof-Musici is an ensemble of musicians specializing in Baroque music performed on period instruments. The ensemble’s German-Latin name (literally „Court Musicians“) hearkens back to the court ensembles active within the former Habsburg monarchy during the High Baroque. These traditions are reflected in the ensemble’s international composition as well as in its repertoire, focused on the music of Italian and Viennese composers. Hof-Musici primarily focuses on unknown compositions, discovered in European music archives and performed in modern world premieres.

The ensemble’s focus on Baroque opera in period staging practice led to the beginnings of collaboration with the Baroque Theatre Foundation in Český Krumlov in 1995. Hof-Musici regularly performs at concerts and festivals at home and abroad, for example in Feste Musicali per San Rocco in Venice (Italy), Internationale Händel-Festspiele Göttingen (Germany), Baroque à Saint-Roch Liège (Belgium), Festival Galuppi in Venice (Italy), Varaždin Baroque Evenings (Croatia), Haydn-Tage Rohrau (Austria), Il Suono & Il Sacro in Caserta, Luoghi dello Spirito e del Tempo in Ravenna, Note senza Tempo in Sardinia, Giovanni Paisiello Festival in Taranto, Handel Festival Japan (Tokyo) and Budapest Spring Festival.

The founder and director of the ensemble is harpsichordist Ondřej Macek.
